*Weld test required before formal interview. Cut, bevel, prep, and assemble test plates before welding. Must bring welding shield, safety glasses, sleeves, boots, gloves, hearing protection, grinder, snips, and wrench.
You will run a 2g and 3g test on B1V.1 s1 to s1.
You will be required to bevel your own plates.
Responsibilities:
- Must understand SMAW, FCAW, and GMAW.
- Must be able to certify in all positions in accordance with ABS/NAVSEA requirements
- Carbon Steels
- SMAW Full Penetration weld with permanent backing (ceramic and metal)
- FCAW Full Penetration weld with permanent backing (ceramic and metal)
- GMAW Full Penetration weld with permanent backing (ceramic and metal)
- Basic experience in structural welding preferred
- Ability to use cutting torch, plasma arc, and other cutting devices.
- Prior experience working at elevated heights is a plus
- Prior technical schooling/training is a plus
Skills:
- Proficient in various welding techniques, such as FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding)
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and welding symbols
- Experience with rigging and positioning materials for welding
- Familiarity with using measuring tools, such as calipers and micrometers
- Knowledge of power tools commonly used in welding projects
- Understanding of codes and standards related to structural welding
- Ability to work with ductwork and other structural components
