Integrated Solutions/VT Milcom, Virginia Beach Division, a business unit of VT Group is seeking to hire qualified shipboard Assemblers. Responsibilities include: •Ability to follow clear and detailed instruction; performs duties assigned by the Task leader or supervisor. •Removes metal interferences, lighting fixtures, drop boxes, studs, hangars, etc. •Removes lagging, cuts metal interferences, grinds or performs other tasks required to prepare surfaces for welding, lagging or painting. •Pulls cable, both copper and fiber, assists with the installation of cableways, including hangars, banding and cable transit blocks. •Ability to build multi-pin, RF, LAN and fiber optic connectors and hook up connection boxes. •Install mounts, fasten, align and adjust parts, components, wiring harnesses to subassemblies, and perform continuity tests. • Install mounting brackets, slide assemblies, power strips, wire harnesses, equipment, and control and indicator panels in equipment racks, installation of insulation and painting. •Physically able to work aloft or over the side. Physically able to perform duties as fire watch. Work in accordance with company quality and safety policies and procedures. Education and/or Experience: HS plus one year of related experience or Associate’s Degree. Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance. Must be able to travel as required.
