Job Description: We are currently seeking experienced HM&E General Engineers (Intermediate) to join the team in our Norfolk, VA Field Office. The General Engineer will provide technical support services aboard U.S. Navy and Coast Guard vessels and shore sites, as well as other customers. Technical assistance functions will include support for shipboard/land-based Hull, Mechanical and Electrical (HM&E) systems and support equipment. The General Engineer must be capable of system conceptualization, system level requirements definition and system test and evaluation and must be familiar with probability, reliability, statistical analysis methods, sampling and test and evaluation techniques, data collection and applicable regulations and standards. They are expected to: work under applicable guidelines, review and evaluate condition reports, work specifications and equipment maintenance/repair recommendations; monitor and evaluate work progress while coordinating work schedules with contractors, ships force and other government activities to resolve scheduling conflicts and work delays ensuring work is in compliance with applicable plans, specs and contractual requirements; assist in all matters pertaining to the work package; assist in the administration of safety, fire prevention and environmental protection programs; conduct/attend regular conferences with customer representatives and ships force; and report status, problems, solutions and/or schedule changes; and perform other related duties as assigned. The General Engineer may be expected, at times, to work non-traditional and overtime hours in accordance with the demands of a particular project and may be required, at times, to travel to customer sites outside of the Field Service Office area. Physical requirements may include but are not limited to: kneeling, crouching, stooping, climbing, working in confined spaces, exposure to hot/cold temperatures for extended periods, lifting, pushing and pulling. Education & Qualifications: -Bachelors Degree from an accredited university AND a minimum of 4 years of technical experience aboard U.S. Navy and/or Coast Guard vessels -Knowledge of 60/400Hz electrical systems, hull and mechanical systems, electronic systems, tag-out and WAF programs/procedures -Full understanding of ISO Quality Assurance and maritime safety practices -Ability to interpret drawings and schematics -Able to operationally test and inspect equipment with limited supervision and in accordance with required safety and technical procedures -Monitor and control costs within own work -Good communication skills -Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment -Ability to obtain a security clearance – SECRET To apply: Interested applicants are to send email to jobs@superiormsllc.com including: 1.
