This position is a Journeyman Quality Assurance Specialist which will provide support services and tracking of tests and deficiency records and processing for the U.S. Coast Guard (USCG) Waterways Commerce Cutter (WCC) Project Resident Office (PRO), located At Bayou La Batre, Alabama.
This position is Contingent Upon Contract Award.

Responsibilities
Essential Duties & Job Functions:
- Responsible for tracking deficiency records and processes including but not limited to: Surveillance (Product Verification/Procedure Review), Test observation, Compartment Completion Inspection (CCI), Corrective Action Requests, Trial Cards, and project management records.
- Conduct review of the Test and Evaluation Master Plan (TEMP) and compare it to the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS). Identify discrepancies between the TEMP and IMS and presented to the customer in a standard format to detail trends.
- Develop and maintain unique ship data for PRO deficiency record input.
- Provide support to customer personnel in maintaining the status of deficiency records from creation through closure in the Technical Support Management (TSM) system.
- Shall utilize available programs, tools, and data sources in preparation of weekly Test and Quality Assurance reports.
- Provide trial card status reports, metrics documenting trends in trial cards and document deficiency resolution in support of dock and sea trials. This task also includes capturing lessons learned between Post Shakedown Availabilities and providing recommendations to decrease costs, and to maintain or shorten the schedule and track performance.
- Generate Electronic Trial Cards (ETC) during pre-trial production inspection and test cycles.
- Responsible to maintain the ability to transfer current cutter, Quality Corrective Action Requests (CAR), and prior cutter(s) rollover trial card data into the TSM system.
- Assist customer personnel with the creation of new trial cards using the ETC tool.
- Assist customer personnel with pre-screening and screening tests before, during and after trials required to support WCC production.
- Assist PRO personnel with tracking, defect coding, and other applicable technical assistance on all trial cards from the ETC tool creation, through closure in the TSM system.
- Maintain a deployable mini-local area network and surge support for sea trials to all laptops and associated network infrastructure to support dock side and at-sea trials to record deficiencies in the Technical Support Management system.
Job Requirements
Mandatory:
- Minimum of three (3) years of shipboard and shipyard quality assurance construction environment related experience.
- Knowledge of ship construction.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 software suite, including but not limited to, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Project, and Excel.
- Proficiency with Primavera.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Must be able to pass and maintain background clearance investigation.
- Must be able to occasionally travel.
- Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment background check and pre-hire drug test.
