EPF Nightwatch

Position Overview

Responsible for the oversight, coordination, quality assurance, and reporting of all preventative maintenance activities performed by Fairlead’s team. This individual ensures that all maintenance tasks are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable standards and contractual obligations.

Supervision Requirements

Nightwatch must have a minimum of five (5) years of professional experience as either:

  • A First Assistant Engineer or Chief Mate sailing under a recognized Flag State, or
  • Equivalent U.S. Navy engineering or deck experience at an appropriate supervisory or senior enlisted level.

Note: Active or current Merchant Mariner Credentials (MMC) are not required for this position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the main POC regarding all preventative maintenance activities.
  • Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the preventative maintenance team.
  • Ensure compliance with technical standards, safety regulations, and maintenance schedules.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain a Fairlead Quality Assurance Plan (QAP) specific to:
    • Supervision and oversight
    • Work performance standards
    • Inspection and validation procedures
    • Progress tracking and maintenance reporting
  • Communicate progress and discrepancies to leadership in a timely and professional manner.
  • Ensure work documentation, including logs, reports, and inspections, are accurate and submitted as required.
  • Facilitate problem resolution and coordination of corrective actions in collaboration with SMT personnel.
  • Promote a culture of safety, reliability, and continuous improvement within the maintenance team.

Qualifications

  • Minimum five (5) years as a First Assistant Engineer or Chief Mate under a recognized Flag State, or equivalent U.S. Navy experience.
  • Strong understanding of shipboard preventative maintenance systems, practices, and procedures.
  • Demonstrated leadership and supervisory experience.
  • Experience coordinating with multi-disciplinary teams and communicating with senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to interpret technical documents, maintenance plans, and reporting formats.
  • Proven track record in implementing quality assurance systems is highly desirable.

Additional Requirements

  • Must be eligible to work in the United States.
  • Ability to pass background checks and meet security clearance requirements if applicable.
  • Physical ability to board and inspect vessel spaces, including confined or elevated areas.

Potential Shifts: Shifts (1) shift is 4PM to 12am and (1) shift is 12am to 8am Monday – Sunday
