Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Shop & Site Foreman to oversee daily operations at our powder coating and welding facility, as well as manage crews on job sites when required. This role is hands-on and leadership-focused, responsible for maintaining quality, safety, productivity, and schedules across shop and field work.
The ideal candidate has strong fabrication knowledge, leadership experience, and the ability to coordinate people, equipment, and timelines efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
Shop Operations
- Supervise daily shop activities including powder coating, welding, fabrication, and finishing
- Schedule jobs and assign tasks to ensure deadlines and quality standards are met
- Monitor workflow, materials, and equipment usage
- Ensure powder coating prep, coating, and curing processes meet specifications
- Maintain shop cleanliness, organization, and safety compliance
Site / Field Operations
- Lead crews on job sites for installation, repairs, or field welding as needed
- Coordinate with project managers, customers, and other trades
- Ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to contract specifications
- Conduct site inspections and address issues proactively
Leadership & Management
- Train, mentor, and supervise shop and field employees
- Enforce company policies, safety procedures, and quality standards
- Conduct daily briefings and job progress updates
- Assist with hiring recommendations and performance evaluations
Safety & Quality Control
- Enforce OSHA and company safety standards
- Identify and correct unsafe practices or conditions
- Inspect finished work for quality, accuracy, and durability
Qualifications
- 3–7+ years of experience in welding, fabrication, or powder coating operations
- Prior foreman, lead, or supervisory experience preferred
- Strong understanding of welding processes, coatings, and metal fabrication
- Ability to read blueprints, drawings, and work orders
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Valid driver’s license; ability to travel to job sites as needed
- Forklift and/or equipment operation experience a plus
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
- Comfortable working in a shop and outdoor job site environments
- Standing, walking, bending, and working with tools for extended periods
