Project Coordinator - Job Purpose: As Project Coordinator, the overall mission is to plan, execute and finalize assigned projects and tasks primarily focused on Hull, Mechanical and Electrical (HM&E) equipment and systems 60Hz, 400Hz, DC and Avionics Systems and components aboard U.S. Navy vessels.
• Prepare technical and management reports as directed in individual task orders
• Assist in review of technical documentation
• Prepare presentation materials, technical writing and related services for proper debriefing of SMS management, government and customer representatives
• Plan and coordinate the use of facilities, equipment, materials and personnel resources to effectively and efficiently accomplish installations/repairs
• Conduct pre-installation site surveys/shipchecks on designated ships
• Develop detailed installation scheduled and POA&M detailing installation, testing and checkout
• Review and compare applicable SCDs, ORDALTs, SHIPALTs, MACHALTs, TEMPALTs and AERs for each ship for compliance with ICD and recommend changes
• Ensure all requirements of the pre-installation check-off list are completed
• Coordinate install schedule and POA&M with ship’s force, government and others as necessary to ensure proper support availability
• Attend daily production meetings aboard ship or at facility and be prepared to debrief; ensure alteration installation/repairs are in accordance with plans, procedures and drawings under the Statement Of Work (SOW)
• Ensure affected spaces are restored to original or equivalent condition even if restoration requires hands-on effort not just supervision
• Adhere to all QA protocols
• Conduct surveys/assessments, identify discrepancies and make recommendations
• Responsible for the implementation and monitoring of the QA Workbook but the Project Lead who manages the book is actually the one updates it on a daily basis.
WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
• Ten (10) years of in the operation, maintenance and in-service testing of Naval shipboard HM&E equipment and systems
• In lieu of educational requirements, minimum of 20 years of experience as described above.
