POSITION SUMMARY -Send resume to matt.kress@kirbycorp.com Diesel mechanics that are highly motivated and career minded are invited to come grow with us! Marine Systems Inc. (MSI) of Chesapeake is looking for experienced mechanics to help us to the next level and support our rapidly growing service and repair operations. We provide accurate, efficient service to customers by troubleshooting, diagnosing and repairing engines in a reasonable and responsible manner. Operating 24 hours a day, seven days a week MSI offers extensive maintenance and repair services that keep America moving The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing problems and performing mechanical repairs at the customer's place of business on customer's equipment including engines, engine components, and subassemblies. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS * Accurately troubleshoot and diagnose standard problems with equipment. * Identify and order parts necessary to complete repairs and routine maintenance. * Perform repairs and maintenance on equipment as necessary. * Complete work orders and time sheets in a legible, accurate and timely manner. * Provide assistance to senior level "Service Technicians" on larger jobs. * Maintain a clean and safe work environment. QUALIFICATIONS * Ability to learn to trouble shoot engine and support systems * Ability to handle materials needed for repairs. * Must be able to travel both domestic and international. * The trait of being dependable and trustworthy. * Ability to organize and complete work within given deadlines. * Ability to communicate in writing clearly and concisely. * Ability to communicate effectively with others using the spoken word. * Ability to take care of the customers' needs while following company procedures.
