Pipefitter

Continental Tide is seeking motivated and experienced Pipefitters to join out Virginia Beach Technology Deployment department. Candidates must possess a high school diploma, GED or industrial school certificate, ability to secure a RapidGate Security Credential and a minimum of five (5) years of practical marine or industrial experience. Target qualifications include: ability to layout, fabricate, fit, and install pipe and tubing, read marine blue prints and work from standard and metric specifications, able to fit flanges and valves. Brazing qualifications and experience in the operation of gas-free equipment/instrumentation is a plus. Candidates may be given a written comprehension exam & hands-on testing. Requirements include: ● Candidates must possess a high school diploma, GED or industrial school certificate ● Minimum of five (5) years experience ● Ability to secure a RAPIDGate Security Credential ● Must possess basic hand tools ● Candidate must be able to walk, stand for long periods of time, sit, bend, stretch, reach, squat and twist ● Must be able to lift, carry and transport heavy equipment and boxes. The exact weight requirements will be determined by the specific job, but no less than 30 lbs. ● Able to work on and climb ladders, work in extreme temperature environments, aboard ships, in shipyards, under industrial conditions and in confined spaces. ● Able to perform other duties as required which may involve high heat, humidity, noise and dirty conditions, working aloft or over the sides of vessels. ● May ride ships at sea for extended periods. ●May require wearing a respirator. ●Travel may be required within and outside of the continental United States.
