Ship Superintendent
Colonna's Shipyard is currently hiring a Superintendent for immediate work in Norfolk, VA. Must be willing to travel. Responsibilities: •The Superintendent oversees all key aspects of the project's progress; determines personnel, material, equipment and facilities needed, establishes basic priorities and work sequences, maintains balanced workload among subordinates through distribution of work projects and allotment of manpower, equipment and materials. Requirements: •Minimum of 5 years Superintendent experience running projects. •Responsible for budget, schedule and quality for assigned projects. •Responsible to establish the contract baseline. •Determine the scope of the work package, evaluates the ability of the production department to support the work package and recommends modifications as needed. •Approve all subcontracts and requests for temporary labor. •Act as primary point of contact with the customer. •Experience with pricing work to varied contract requirements such as Military Sealift Command, Commercial business, and the US Navy. •Experience with the NAVSEA Standard Items. •Ability to plan a multi-trade, multi-task project. •Excellent verbal and written communication skills. •Incumbent must be Rapid Gate and TWIC eligible. •Be willing and able to travel to support projects. •Comment to safety without compromise. •Administer every aspect of ship repair projects including purchasing, planning and scheduling, production oversight, contractual modifications, final bill settling, and invoicing.
