VSRA EXCLUSIVE CYBERSECURITY EVENTS

The Virginia Ship Repair Association Cybersecurity Committee provides a forum for the VSRA Members to discuss and stay informed about the ever-evolving Cybersecurity landscape.

With the US Department of Defense (DoD) releasing its Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) version 1.0 at the end of last January, ship repair executives and managers found themselves with many questions needing to be answered in regards to what the new cyber contractual requirements actually mean.

In response, Tracy Gregorio, chair of the Cybersecurity Committee, held a special Executive Briefing Webinar on Cybersecurity Preparedness on Thursday, May 21, 2020, with over 30 VSRA executives and managers attending. This webinar featured a 20-minute presentation on what all business leaders need to consider when shaping a cybersecurity plan best for their organization, as well as how to ensure DFARS Cybersecurity requirements. The Cybersecurity Preparedness presentation is available here.

In addition, the Cybersecurity Committee will be hosting a FREE CMMC Webinar on Thursday, June 18, 2020 from 9:30 – 11:00 AM via Zoom. (We apologize for any inconveniences due to date changes.)

This upcoming webinar will feature a presentation and discussion by Ms. Katie Arrington who is the Chief Information Security Officer for the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition. Topics of discussion during this in-depth 90-minute session include:

  • Overview of the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC)
  • Explanation of CMMC's 5 certification levels
  • Update on the DoD's plans for CMMC
  • Updated timeline for implementation
  • Your questions will be welcomed!

If you have any questions, please contact Daniel Keats at DKeats@VirginiaShipRepair.org or Cybersecurity Committee Chair Tracy Gregorio at Tracy@g2-ops.com.
