Rear Admiral William J. Galinis, currently Commander, Navy Regional Maintenance Center (CNRMC), earned a bachelor of science degree in electrical engineering from U.S. Naval Academy, and a master of science in electrical engineering from Naval Post Graduate School.
His first engineering duty tour was with the Supervisor of Shipbuilding, Conversion and Repair, New Orleans, LA. His next tour was as Senior Damage Control Inspector for the Board of Inspection and Survey, Surface Trials Board. His Washington, DC positions include Office of the Chief of Naval Operations in the Requirements & Assessments Directorate (N81) and in the Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Navy for Shipbuilding as the Chief of Staff.
Galinis’s most recent duties are Supervisor of Shipbuilding, Gulf Coast in 2009, and serving as Commanding Officer of Norfolk Ship Support Activity (NSSA) until the end of 2013.
His awards include the Legion of Merit, Meritorious Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal and Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal.
