2014 VSRA FM99 Bragging Rights Competition April 12, 2014
The 2014 Winners are: Norfolk Naval Ship Yard and UHP Projects!!!!!
“THE YARD!" competition was FABULOUS! VSRA, and FM 99, hosted more than 140 people and six teams for the 3rd Annual “The Yard” Cardboard Boat Face Off competition at Scott's Creek Marina in Portsmouth. The weather was AMAZING on the staff at Scott's Creek Marina were so gracious and helpful. Teams from Auxiliary Systems, UHP Projects, NNSY, NNS, BAE Systems Norfolk Ship Repair, and NASSCO-Norfolk built their own vessels out of corrugated cardboard and duct tape, then put them to the test on the water. Crofton Diving got a work out as some ships exceeded 400 lbs. of weight before sinking!
