2014 19th Annual VSRA Safety & Health Seminar!

The VSRA 19th Annual Safety & Health Seminar is scheduled for Wednesday, October 15, 2014 - Seating will be limited.

Contractor Minimum Wage Increased to $10.10

On Wednesday, February 12, 2014, President Obama signed an Executive Order that increases the minimum wage for employees of federal contractors from $7.25 to $10.10. The Executive Order goes into effect on January 1, 2015 and only applies to government contracts awarded after January 1, 2015.

June Membership Meeting guest speaker Rear Admiral Peter A. Gumataotao

Rear Admiral Peter A. Gumataotao, a native of Guam, graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 1981 and from the U.S. Naval War College in 1994, when he earned a master of arts in strategic studies.

May Membership Meeting Guest Speaker: RDML William J. Galinis

At our May General Membership Meeting, RDML William J. Galinis, Commander, Navy Regional Maintenance Center, joined us to present updates. He spoke of the journey ahead as the RMCs realign under CNRMC and he shed some light on the RMCs Fiscal Year 2014 Focus Areas.

2014 SENIOR TRADESMAN OF THE YEAR

The winner of the 2014 Senior Tradesmen of the Year award was announced at the May General Membership Luncheon meeting. This year’s award went to Mr. Garrett A. Barber  with AMSEC.

The winner of the 2014 Junior Tradesmen of the Year award was announced at the May General Membership Luncheon meeting. This year’s award went to Mr. Antonio Sanchez with MHI.

2014 VSRF Ship Repair Career Days - Great Success!

In 2014, VSRA Volunteers reached over 4600 Middle and High School Students!  Plus!  More than 3800 Elementary Students received Ship Repair Career Kits in their Classrooms!
