The winner of the 2014 Junior Tradesmen of the Year award was announced at the May General Membership Luncheon meeting. This year’s award went to Mr. Antonio Sanchez with MHI.
The selection of the Junior Awardee highlights the importance of employees who are not only proficient in ship board work, but can contribute to the creation and improvement of the infrastructure our yards need to be efficient and technically advanced in the future. This nominee has a Bachelor’s of Science in Information Systems and has chosen a career as an electrician. He led the design and build-out of a new valve shop, handles Lockout/Tagout coordination, provides instruction on electrical theory to the younger electricians and installed the new T1 system on the CFFC Barges.
