For the second quarterly meeting, the VSRA-OSHA Partnership hosted its 1st Annual Executives Luncheon. With 80 attendees, the event was a great success. Our temporary Area OSHA Director, Michael Stracka, was the guest of honor. Hot topics such as heat stress, temporary workers, silica regulations and nylon webbing were discussed. Chairman Tom Binner of BAE Systems Norfolk Ship Repair and Robert Tew of General Dynamics NASSCO, reviewed our industry BLS rates. With 34 partner companies, the OSHA Partnership is below the industry BLS rates, holding a 4.25 average for DART; 5.86 for TRIR; and 1.93 for LTIR.
