Senator Mark Warner spoke to the VSRA General Membership at the November Luncheon. He emphasized that the efforts VSRA members make to create awareness and support for maintenance and modernization issues is critical to strengthening our Naval fleet. The Senator also stressed that the contingent of elected representatives from Virginia were all working on a bi-partisan basis to focus on long-range planning and infrastructure support for ship building and repair operations. However, he challenged listeners to expand their efforts on educating elected officials on challenges the Navy faces in keeping the fleet at maximal readiness by reaching out to representatives from other states who have industries that support the work being accomplished in this region.
