President
John Polowczyk

John Polowczyk is the President of the Virginia Ship Repair Association (VSRA). He brings over 34 years of executive experience in supply chain management, logistics, and national security.

Immediately prior to leading our staff, Mr. Polowczyk was a Managing Director at Ernst & Young (EY), where he was a leader in the Government and Public Sector Supply Chain and Operations practice. This was built upon a foundation of national-level crisis management, most notably his appointment to lead the White House COVID-19 Supply Chain Stabilization Task Force. During a moment of national crisis, Mr. Polowczyk had a multi-faceted effort to stabilize the nation's fractured medical supply chain. He utilized the Defense Production Act (DPA) and innovative programs like "Project Air Bridge" to coordinate the delivery of billions of items of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to frontline healthcare workers, drastically reducing delivery times.

Mr. Polowczyk is also a decorated 33-year career in the United States Navy, from which he retired as a Rear Admiral. His career was marked by a series of demanding leadership roles, including serving as the Vice Director for Logistics (J4) for the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, where he managed the global logistics enterprise for the entire Joint Force. His other flag officer assignments included serving as the Director of Navy Logistics Programs and Business Operations (OPNAV N41), where he was responsible for the policy and funding of the Navy's vast supply chain. His exemplary service earned him numerous awards, including the Defense Superior Service Medal and the Legion of Merit.

Mr. Polowczyk holds a Master of Science in National Resource Strategy from the National Defense University and a Master of Science in Management from the Naval Postgraduate School. As President of VSRA, he leverages his deep, first-hand understanding of the critical link between the industrial base and national security. He is committed to applying his strategic vision to support and advocate for the member companies of our Association, strengthening the industrial base and ensuring it remains a cornerstone of the nation's defense.
