Welder Workmanship Training

If you weld aboard Navy ships; you, and your sub-tiers as applicable, MUST have a Welder Workmanship Training (WWT) program as specified in Tech Pub 248 section 5.2.3. Certification of the WWT procedure can ONLY be provided by a certified Level III NDT examiner. Many contractors have failed audits and inspections as a result of misunderstanding these requirements. NAVSEA specifications require welders to be trained and able to visually inspect their welds. This course meets that requirement. Our Welder Workmanship Training courses meet the 8 hour requirement for visual inspection of welds as required in MIL-STD-278 and Technical Publication S9074-AR-GIB-010/278. These courses are designed to teach the theory and applications of the Visual Method of Inspection. SI-TECH's basic WWT class covers elements of Tech Pub(s) -248, -271, -278, -1688, and Mil-Std(s) -1689 and -2035A. Additional modules for other technical documents can be added to the basic course for your job requirements, such as SPN-010, MAN-010, or -4010.
