This 2 day course covers all pertinent  Standard Items as well as changes, areas that are frequently cited or misunderstood, how to source information and what can be expected in future changes. This course is often cited by students as being very applicable to their jobs and contains information they will use immediately upon return to the wok site.

Human Resources Committee Meeting

Due to the recent Human Resources Seminar on April 25th, the Human Resources Committee meeting scheduled for May 2nd has been cancelled.  Your next Human Resources Committee meeting will be on Wednesday, June 6th. 

Contracts Committee Meeting

The Contracts Committee will meet the first Thursday of each month at 8:30 a.m., at the VSRA Offices, 101 W. Main Street, Suite 5500 (5th Floor East), Norfolk, VA  23510.  We are located in the World Trade Center building.

Quality Management Board (QMB) Meeting

The QMB / Quality Assurance Committee  combined meeting will be held on the second Tuesday of every ODD month starting at 9:00 a.m., at the VSRA Offices, 101 W. Main Street, Suite 5500 (5th Floor East), Norfolk, VA  23510.  We are located in the World Trade Center building.  The QA Committee session will begin immediately following the QMB session.

VSRF 2012 6th Annual Tradesmen of the Year Awards

The awards will be given at the full General Membership Luncheon meeting on Tuesday, May 15, 2012 where all of the nominees will be recognized for their contribution to the ship repair industry.

VSRA General Membership Luncheon Meeting

VSRA Board of Directors meetings are held on the third Tuesday of each month, followed by a lunch meeting with the general membership. The guest speaker for May 15, 2012 will be Rob Robins, VP of Bay Diesel and one of the primary directors for OpSail 2012 relative to all maritime operations. Rob will provide an update on “OPSAIL 2012 Virginia.” The Chairman of the VSRA Board and the VSRA committee chairs report to the general membership at the monthly meeting, followed by a guest speaker's presentation. Each member company may have its designated representatives present at the general membership monthly luncheon meeting and is welcome to invite company guests.

Emergency First Response (May 16, 2012)

Emergency First Response training is OSHA approved and internationally accepted.  This course meets the OSHA Guidelines CFR 1910.151 compliance standards for workplace safety.

Emergency First Response REFRESHER (May 17, 2012)

This is a 1/2 a day refresher course from 7:30am to 11:30am. The EFR Refresher course meets OSHA Guidelines 29CFR 1910.151 compliance standards for workplace safety.

National Maritime Day

The Propeller Club of Norfolk presents the National Maritime Day 2012, the official Kick-Off Event for OpSail 2012 Virginia Tuesday, May 22nd. Enjoy live entertainment by Lewis McGehee, networking, and hors d' oeuvres during the Propeller Club Port of Norfolk National Maritime Day Cocktail Event to be held at the Half Moone Cruise and Celebration Center from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
