QA Manager

Job Description Mid Atlantic Engineering Technical Services, Inc. (MAETS) has an immediate opening for an experienced, well-rounded Quality Assurance Manager (QAM) to support our maritime installation, repair, engineering and technical services operations in support of US Navy, Military Sealift Command (MSC), US Coast Guard, and commercial customers around the world. This position will be headquartered in our Chesapeake, Virginia office and will require less than 10% travel. Duties will include direct oversight of our ISO 9001:2008/2015 Quality Management System (QMS) and associated documentation, QA-related program support for maritime operations, management of our welding program, support and oversight of the company safety and training programs, and supervision of one junior employee. The QAM will work with the General Manager, Branch Heads, and Program/Project Managers on a daily basis to facilitate the quality of the services and products delivered by the MAETS team and address non-conformances that may arise. He/she will develop and oversee the QMS audit program to ensure company compliance with all aspects of the program. He/she will review and promulgate current and revised QA information, requirements, and regulations to all levels of the company as appropriate. This information will include ISO requirements, NAVSEA Standard Items, NAVSEA Technical Specifications (e.g., TS9090-310). The QAM will work with company employees, subcontractors, and prime contractors to ensure appropriate safety-related (e.g., OSHA) regulations are followed for all operations. The QAM will also oversee and coordinate the training of employees in all necessary disciplines. Required Knowledge/Skills/Experience: To qualify for this position, candidates must possess at least 10 years of experience with shipboard installation, repair, and/or technical services support and 5 years of experience with quality management systems (of which 3 must be associated with the shipboard industry). The selected candidate must have in-depth knowledge of ISO procedures, NAVSEA Standard Items, and Technical Specifications. Candidates must also be familiar with MSC General Technical Requirements and US Coast Guard Surface Force Logistics Center references and standards. All candidates must have an understanding of ISO Level I, II, III, and IV documentation requirements, processes and procedures. Candidates must be familiar with general welding procedures/requirements as well as shipboard safety and training requirements. All candidates must possess or be capable of possessing a Department of Defense security clearance. The selected candidate must also have demonstrated an understanding of the Microsoft™ office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
