Marine Electronics Technician

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Marine Electronics Technician with a minimum of 5+ years’ experience. NMEA or ABYC certifications preferred.

Salary based on experience and certifications.

Position responsibilities include & candidates must:

* Possess a demonstrated knowledge of the principles of electricity, marine electronics, vessel installation procedures and shop practices to perform maintenance, diagnostics, repairs and installations on various marine electronic equipment.

* Lift heavy objects up to 50 pounds and subject to prolonged standing and kneeling.

* Work at heights up to 50 feet above the deck using proper safety equipment.

* Good housekeeping habits, strict adherence to safety regulations, and frequent overtime are required; travel is required.

* Install, operate and troubleshoot various marine navigation software.

* Cut openings and drill holes for mounting of electronics equipment.

* Provide own tools

* Accurately document all work performed, excellent verbal and communication skills.

* Ability to work independently and as a team.

Basic Knowledge of the following Marine electronics, including but not limited to:

· Radars, sonars, fish finders

· Computers, software

· GPS, autopilot, navigation, satellite compass

· Radios, VHF, communication systems

· TVRO and VSAT

· Network/IT Experience a plus

Preferred Skills/Education:

· 5 years minimum related work experience

· NMEA Certifications

· FCC GROL License with radar endorsement or ability to test for OR Equivalent.

· Basic Computer Skills, Microsoft Office, Email, Teams

· Customer Service & Problem Solving
