VSRF Partners to Host Hiring Events Across Hampton Roads

The Virginia Ship Repair Foundation has worked jointly with longtime partners to host a series of in-person Ship Repair Hiring Events across Hampton Roads this summer.

The first event was held on June 4 in conjunction with the Hampton High School Maritime Academy. Representatives from 18 companies attended the event which was also attended by around 30 graduating seniors and recent graduates. Multiple students received job offers and all of the participating students gained valuable experience in marketing themselves to potential employers.

“It felt good to get my career started. I am already ahead on becoming a successful person,” said Charley Crawford, Maritime Academy senior. James Perry, another Maritime Academy senior, said, “It was inspiring to get to talk to a lot of people in my future career field and get the opportunity to get a job right out of high school.”
