March Speaker: RADM Joseph A. Horn, Jr.

RADM Joseph A. Horn, Jr. of the Program Executive Office for Integrated Warfare Systems. He earned his bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from United States Naval Academy, and master of science degree in operations research from Naval Postgraduate School. He is also a Massachusetts Institute of Technology Seminar XXI alumni.

His duty assignments include USS Sampson, USS Robert G. Bradley, USS Ticonderoga, and USS Anzio; and he commanded USS Stout and USS Lake Erie. His deployments have included Mediterranean Sea, Arabian Gulf, Red Sea, Indian Ocean, Eastern and Western Pacific. Career achievements include serving on staffs, and assignments at Missile Defense Agency, Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense, and Navy Air and Missile Defense Command where he was commander.

 Horn has earned the following personal awards: Meritorious Service Medal (four); Defense Superior Service Medal (three); Legion of Merit (two), Navy and Marine Commendation Medal (two), and Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medal (two).
