Position Specifics and Requirements:
*This position requires an interim SECRET level security clearance to start.
Extensive years of experience in the operation, repair, maintenance and assessment of US Naval Marine Main Reduction Gear, Turning Gear, Line Shaft Bearings, Thrust Bearings, Shaft Seals, Bulkhead Shaft Seals, and Auxiliary Equipment Support is required.
Minimum of five (5) years of specialized hands-on experience in the operation, repair, maintenance and assessment of US Naval Marine Main Reduction Gear, Turning Gear, Shaft Line Bearings, Thrust Bearings, Main Shaft Seals, Bulkhead Shaft Seals, Gas Turbine Generator Reduction Gear, Emergency Diesel Generator Pedestal Bearings, Air Operated Diaphragm Control Valves and Auxiliary Equipment Support.
The selected candidate must be knowledgeable in GTG Reduction Gear alignments, clutch assessment and repairs, and machinery vibration analysis.
Candidate will be required to obtain a certification of at least Category II Vibration Analyst within six (6) months of employment.
The selected candidate will be required to:
• Demonstrate a working knowledge of Navy assessment programs, visit processes and reporting methods for visits.
• Demonstrate regularly using accepted current instrumentation for diagnosing equipment.
• Demonstrate ability for interpreting wiring diagrams and control schematics.
• Utilize computers including the Microsoft Office Suite for compiling information for reports and history files and transfer digital pictures from camera to computer and enhance as required and label them for report purposes.
• Communicate effectively in writing and orally.
• Demonstrate an ability to interpret wiring diagrams, control schematics and plans and the ability as Subject Matter Expert (SME) to troubleshoot, analyze and provide distance support for listed equipment.
Performs technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.
Office, industrial, or shipboard environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances. Lifting and moving materials may be required.

An additional 4 years of specific job experience with a HS diploma may be substituted for the Bachelor's degree requirement for this job. Example: If this job required a Bachelor's degree + 5 years relevant experience the equivalency would equal HS diploma + 9 years job related experience.
