FSG Matl Dist Handling Support 3 (EQOL) HII FLEET SUPPORT GROUP (0480) Norfolk-Virginia-United States 34117BR External Job Description *Must have a Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) Badge to start* This position proactively supports the US Navy COMNAVAIRLANT Habitability Program, Enhanced Quality Of Life (EQOL) Project, for shipboard food service, galley, and laundry equipment by providing technical, material, maintenance, and training assistance. Position Specifics: Candidate must have the following to qualify for the position. • Must have previous experience with warehouse material handling equipment such as pallet jacks, pallet wrappers and stacker systems or equivalents. • Must be proficient with MS-Office applications (Access, Excel, Outlook, Power Point, and Word). • Ability to obtain/maintain a Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) ID card, CAC card and Secret Security Clearance. • Must be able to pass a DOT physical and qualify for a company issued forklift operator license. Performs a combination of manual and clerical shipping and/or receiving duties, which may require the use of hand trucks, forklifts, and other devices, as well as computers to maintain data. Receives incoming materials or prepares materials for shipment. Verifies quantity, weight, and conformance of materials; prepares records of materials shipped and bills of lading; routes materials to destinations. May lay out, fabricate, and assemble nonstandard shipping crates and boxes, and prepare parts and tooling for special shipment. Physical Requirements: Ability to lift forty pounds, carry and transport heavy equipment and boxes and work in high heat/cold environments, aboard ships, under industrial conditions, in confined spaces, at heights, and in extreme weather. Ability to operate portable power tools. Work may involve climbing and working on ladders.
