Purchasing Manager's Essential Roles and Responsibilities: Read and interpret technical data such as production drawings and technical manuals in support of procurements Ensure purchase orders clearly specify all pertinent technical requirements and invoke all relevant contract clauses, terms, and condition Provide guidance to Buyers, Expeditors and Administrators Communicate effectively with internal customers and vendors Resolve delivery, receiving and invoicing issues Develop and implement procedures to evaluate and select suppliers Work closely with the Program and other functional groups such as Operations, Quality, Engineering, and Finance to develop plans to promote program cost reduction initiatives and achieve supplier performance improvements in technical, quality, and on-time delivery results Research, advise and assist procurement executives in the strategy development, implementation, and management of the company’s supply chain commodity risks Serve as the company’s primary point of contact with vendors on assigned purchase orders Actively support production with current purchase commitment status and vendor delivery information Demonstrate proficiency in MS Office; Experience with an enterprise system (e.g., Costpoint) Able to handle multiple projects simultaneously and use judgment in prioritizing work Qualifications: BS / BA degree plus four years experience | AS / AA plus eight years experience | or twelve years direct experience Reliable transportation to and from work Must be able to pass a pre-employment screen
