Primary Responsibilities
- Transport & Delivery: Safely operate company vehicles to transport products, heavy equipment, and team members between company facilities and local shipyards.
- Shipyard Access: Navigate entry protocols for various regional shipyards; maintain constant readiness for security screenings.
- Load Management: Assist in loading and unloading equipment and products, ensuring all items are properly secured for transit.
- Personnel Transport: Provide professional and punctual shuttle services for employees to job sites or between shops.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections; maintain vehicle cleanliness and report any mechanical issues immediately.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate driving logs, delivery receipts, and maintenance records.
Requirements & Qualifications
- License: Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record (CDL Class A or B is not required, but preferred).
- Security Clearance: Must be able to pass rigorous federal and shipyard-specific background checks.
- Forklift Operation: Forklift Certification a plus.
- Experience: Years of professional driving experience, preferably in an industrial or maritime environment.
- Physical Ability: Must be able to lift up to 50lbs and assist with securing equipment.
- Reliability: Strong punctual work ethic and the ability to adapt to changing schedules or delivery priorities.
Skills
- Deep familiarity with local shipyard locations and regional traffic patterns.
- Ability to safely band and load equipment on trucks for transport.
- Strong communication skills for coordinating with shop foremen and security personnel.
- Commitment to safety and adherence to all DOT regulations.

- Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs. at a time when required
- While performing the duties of the job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, reach overhead with hands and arms, stoop, crouch, kneel, climb ladders, and use stairs
