Project Manager of Utilities

Our team members work vigorously to meet our customers’ needs. No two days are the same! Crofton is seeking a Project manager - Utilities to join our team. As a Project Manager of Utilities, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing and managing all aspects of utility projects, with a focus on fiberoptic cables, power cables, water lines, and conduit installations. Your responsibilities will include: Duties/ Responsibilities: • Lead the acquisition of necessary permits for utility installations. • Coordinate with utility owners and design team to ensure permit documentation is accurate and complete. • Develop comprehensive project plans, outlining timelines, milestones, and resource allocation. • Ensure timely and within-budget execution of utility projects, meeting or exceeding quality standards. • Provide hands-on oversight of utility installations, ensuring compliance with specifications and industry standards. • Collaborate with on-site teams to troubleshoot and resolve any issues that may arise during installation. • Demonstrate knowledge in horizontal directional drilling techniques. • Implement best practices to optimize HDD processes for efficient and precise utility installations. • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies. • Communicate project progress, address concerns, and ensure alignment with stakeholder expectations. • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success. • Proactively address challenges to prevent delays and cost overruns. • Performs other related duties as assigned. Required Skills/Abilities: • Excellent verbal communication skills. • Strong understanding of horizontal directional drilling techniques and best practices • Ability to execute directions accurately and with speed. • Proficient in project management software and tools • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills. • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. • Ability to prioritize tasks. Education and Experience: • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Project Management, or a related field. • Proven experience in managing utility projects, with a focus on fiberoptic cables, power cables, water lines, and conduit installations. • Experience in acquiring utility permits and navigating regulatory processes. • Experience in lieu of degree Physical Requirements: • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times. • Exposure to construction and marine site dangers. • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers. • Prolonged periods of sitting and work on a computer
